Sense and Sensibility

               Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen (1997)


   I read Sense and Sensibility. It was written by Jane Austen who was a novelist in Britain. She published a lot of works. And Sense and Sensibility was made into a movie.

   I will talk about outline of this story. There were Mrs Dashwood and their three daughters-Elinor, Marianne and Margaret. They were amazed at the news that only 500 ponds of inheritance was left after Mr Dashwood of nobleman. Edward came the house which three daughters lived. Elinor fell in love with him but they had to live separately. And Marianne went out with Willoughby but suddenly he went to London. So she was very sad. After that, Elinor and Marianne went to London. However, Willoughby and Edward had decided to marry other woman. So Elinor and Marianne went home with  disappointment. Marianne caught infection and captain Brandon rescued her. And Marianne fell in love with him. After a while, Edward came to Elinor to say he broke up with other woman. Finally Elinor and Edward, Marianne and captain Brandon got married.

   I will write down one quotation. “ My wife didn’t love me then, and she doesn’t love me now. I heard about Marianne’s illness, and at once my love for her came back into my heart! I love only her! But she will never be mine now. Will you tell her all this? I hurt her badly, but I have also hurt my self. Am I still a very bad man? What do you think?” I thought he was a very bad man. She had fell in love with other woman but came back and said “I love you”. If I were Elinor, I was not happy!

   I read book after a long interval so It took time to do it. I will read many books from now on!
