London No.2

   I read “London” three weeks ago and I will write detailed book review about it again this week. I will introduce chapter 7 which is about museums and galleries. 

   There are a lot of museums in London. This book introduces seven museums.The first one is, The British Museum. It is in Great Russell Street and the biggest museum in London and the oldest museum in the world. In there, there are 94 galleries, a reading room, bookshops and Great Court. The second one is, The Museum of London. We can learn about London and its people from its earliest times. The third one is, The National History Museum. We can learn all about our world, the people and animals. Moreover, we can see moving exhibition of dinosaurs and many more beautiful and interesting things. The fourth one is, The Science Museum. It has more than 10000 exhibits and we can learn about the science of the past the science of today. The fifth one is, The London Transport Museum. It tells us the story of London’s buses and underground trains from the early nineteenth century and we can hear stories about buses in London during the Second World War. The sixth one is, The Dickens House Museum. This is a much smaller museum which is different from the other museums I introduced. He lived in this house with his family for three years. The last one is, The Sherlock Holmes Museum. Sherlock Holmes is very famous person. We can learn all about him and see his hat and bedroom. 

   The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery are visited by four millions people. There are a lot of pictures and we can enjoy looking at them. Museums and galleries are crowded but in the late afternoon it is often quieter. 

   I was not interested in museums and galleries before I read this book. However, I can notice the charms of them so I would like to visit in the late afternoon!! 

   

   

Lesson 5 (October 28th)

 I learned how to learn in this class. Balanced learning  consists of Nations 4 Strands. It is Meaning-focused input, Meaning-focused output, Language-focused learning and Fluency development. I was interested in these. If  I read an English book that I can hardly understand, I will be bored with it and I won’t be able to continue reading it. And if I’m not interested in the contents of the book, the same things will happen. So I think it is important to choose according to my ability and interests. Moreover, I could understand that it was effective to study every day even if it is a short time.

Free Time Around the World

I read “Free Time Around the World” this week. I know    what Japanese people do in free time but I didn’t know what foreign people do so I was interested in it. 

What do you do in your free time? I will tell you some things which I learned from this book. The first one is reading. All around the world, people like to read books, newspapers, magazines, and comic books. I read  a lot of books when I was a elementary school student but I rarely read it now in my free time. I think reading  books is very important to get a lot of information and get great sensibility. And manga started in Japan, but it’s now popular in many countries. Manga is loved by people all over the world.

The second one playing sports. Soccer is a big part of life in Brazil and there’s a lot of time for snow sports in the north of Canada because winter is from September to June. Furthermore, Tae kwon do is a national sport in South Korea, basketball is the most popular team sport in the USA and Australian people enjoy beach sports. Like these, a lot of people in the world enjoy various sports in their free time. I also like playing sports and I think it is good for my health by exercising. 

I could enjoy knowing free time around the world so I would like to know another things in all over the world. 

Lesson4(October 21th)

I took a face-to-face class today. It was more interesting and easier to understand than online class. I learned learner factors in today’s class. I understood that personality and character are deeply involved in learning. I was surprised to know that if our tolerance of ambiguity is high, it is advantageous for learning. I thought it was important to have moderate ambiguity. Moreover, I learned that age was also important to learn ability of language. Like “Older is faster, younger is better”, learning language at a young age is more effective. I thought Children’s ability of language was wonderful! However, I can’t go back to a child so I want to find the way which suits my characteristics and improve my English skills. 

How to Stay Healthy

This book is written about how to stay healthy. So I will tell the contents of it. 

These can be roughly divided into three. First, it is right food. Carbohydrates give our bodies  energy. Fiber helps to move food through our stomachs and intestines. Moreover, Proteins help our muscles to grow and we need calcium for healthy bones and iron for healthy blood. However, we don’t have to eat too much food with sugar, fat, and salt. In Japan, people eat lots of rice, vegetables, and fish. This food has lots of fiber and vitamins and it doesn’t have much fat. 

Second, it is exercise. Do you know why exercise is good? I could understand it by reading this book. Exercise helps to make our bones and muscles stronger. It also protects us from health problems. Furthermore, it makes us feel good, and it even helps us to work better at school. So we need to do exercise even if it isn’t a long time. 

Third, it is rest. Our body needs to time to repair our muscles and to make them bigger. And we need to sleep so that our brain can rest. 

I think it is very important to stay healthy so I should be careful in daily life. Especially, food, exercise and rest is necessary to build a strong body. 

Lesson 3 (October 14th)

 I learned about influence of mother tongue. I surprised to know the babies are genius because they can distinguish sounds in all language of the world. They can understand all sounds when they are babies but they can’t understand all sounds as they grow up because they ignore sounds which is unnecessary.  I used to think it was important to get new knowledge but I learned it was also important to throw them away to grow for efficiency. Furthermore, I could understand that there are good influence and bad influence in metastasis. There are a lot of differences  between Japan and foreign countries so I think it is important to understand sense of value and respect each other. 

London

 I read “London” this week. This book consists of 10 contents.

This book tells me beautiful of London. I have wanted to go to London so it was good to know a lot about London. 

The name called London comes from Rome. Romans came 2000 years ago so turned from village to town. I was surprised to know that London used to be a village. Most of today’s London buildings were built during Queen Victoria. Moreover, 6 millions people visited the World Exposition and the railway opened in 1851. In 1863, the world’s first subway opened. Now, there are people all over the world in London and 300 words there. I think London has a long history. 

Furthermore, London has a lot of nice places for example rivers, parks, museums, markets and so on. I could know the nice points of them so I want to visit them. In England, we can enjoy afternoon tea with listening to music and eating delicious food. I was very attracted to this so I bring a lot of money to London and want to enjoy this. 

London is visited by 11 million tourists from countries around the world each year so I want to be a member of them!! 

Lesson 2 (October 7th)

 Today, I learned about motivation. I’m suffering from low motivation now so the topic of today’s class was very interesting. I thought it was important to set clear goals because I can’t have motivation if there were no goals. We should take online classes so my motivation is low. However, If I set clear goals, my motivation will go up!

Moreover, I think the idea for going up motivation is to separate time. I can’t concentrate long time so it is effective to concentrate short time. And it is important to continue it. Then, I think that motivation will go up without feeling stress.
