Remember Miranda

I read "Remember Miranda" this week. This story is a bit of mystery. Cathy is going to look after the two young children,Tim and Susan. She meets the children's father, grandmother, aunt and Nick, the farmer who lives across the fields. However, she doesn't meet Miranda, the children's mother, because she is dead. Everyone remembers her, but nobody wants to talk about her because... I was very surprised to read the ending of this story.
